Whilst house hunting on the north coast of Sutherland we stay at a friends part of Strathy Point Lighthouse. We were up there last week and these photos were taken over the space of around fifteen minutes.

This place really is very pretty before the crowds arrive.

Regardless of the plane vapour trail (that Rob expertly removed), both are really excellent captures - love them both and can't decide which one is better - the shorter exposure with the redder colours or the longer one with the blurred clouds. Both are great.Enchanted Rock

I'm sure Rob won't mind me saying that removing that vapour trail is basic rather than expert PS stuff. As he has already said, 2 seconds work (once the program and image had loaded, of course, unless he has a really quick computer )

Photo taken in India, or have they got gharials in a zoo somewhere now?
(nice capture either way...)
Well spotted! The gharial was in the National Chambal Sanctuary in Northern India. (nice capture either way...)
It almost (almost) made up for us failing to spot any tigers at Ranthambore a few days earlier.

That's a shame. Had a similar failure on safari - the only rhino we saw in over a week was a small spot through a 300mm lens and barely any bigger through the guides binocs! All the good sightings are great, but it's the 'misses' you remember as much...Gassing Station | Photography & Video | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
