Wooah this is one hell of a shot! Nicely done!Travel always brings back some of the magic to photography. A recent trip to Oz had me snapping away happily and back in the groove. Please forgive the wky abstract nature of my photographs.

Superb shot as always Mike. I am in awe of pretty much every photo posted on this thread, you guys all put a huge amount of work into it it seems.
A question about Torridon though... How do the loughs always appear so calm?! I'm from Galway on the west coast of Ireland and it's permanently windy there, I would have thought it would be the same on the west coast of Scotland. Is it just luck, or are there certain times of day when the wind tends to drop?

Cheers. To be honest we had one calm day in 6 when I was up there - early or late on the day it tends to be calmer and also the shot above is in a really sheltered valley. I tend to go for the classic/cliché shots with big reflections so I go mad with the camera whenever the conditions are right A question about Torridon though... Here's a different view of a place you'll know if you follow this thread

That's lovely. Is that from a boat or from the opposite shore?
Thanks for the answer, I guess in a place as windy as that it makes sense to make hay when the sun shines and try to get as many photos taken as possible when it is calm. I can't wait to go up there one day, it looks stunning.
