I was alerted to this White Beaked Dolphin being stranded on Dunnet Beach this morning. After making phone calls to various bodies I went to locate the actual spot where it was. After around half an hour of slowly moving it into the shallows and then deeper water it regained enough strength to start swimming unaided.
The level of satisfaction is amazing although I was informed later that as it was very young it may strand itself again later. Here’s hoping it’s still enjoying a second chance.
