It's exciting but tiring. As mentioned it seems lenses are as - if not more - important than the body!

So while I'd love to splurge on an A7R iv that's probably not smart. But then if I go somewhere in between I want to make sure the lenses are future proofed for my needs and that I don't buy into a system I won't use later frown

A7r mk4 is probably the best all round camera made, and the g master lenses are very good.

Just saying.

If I bite the bullet and go big I might go with the Mk3 and spend the change on 1-2 lenses. I’ll stick with the Canon for a few months at least first.

It’s very easy to get inspired in such an awe inspiring country with breathtaking scenery no matter where you turn. Whether the bug remains in the Irish climate will determine any future investments smile

You can honestly do so much with any camera these days.

The sony will give you potentially more detail/sharper images and more dynamic range (among others) - so less need to stitch/pano or bracket/use filters

I still usually use a filter or bracket if I think i need to but I really like blending in photoshop (using luminosity masking) - you can only push shadows so far.

I usually put a lot of effort into getting the shots I want so make sure i have the best reasonable gear I can have along with me at the time - so thats now using an a7r mk2 /5d mk4 and canon lenses ( 16-35/24tse/35mk2 etc)

Yes and first lesson learnt; make sure you're not in APS-C mode the entire day. Serves me right for assigning a custom button hehe
