Both shot on Portra 160 120 film on an old Yashica Mat-124G TLR.
I owned a 124G. I just couldn't afford to buy a 35mm SLR and keep it. I used to go camping in those days, and a 6x6 TLR was a bit cumbersome for a tent.

It;'s a lovely camera to use and strangely feels very small compared to my full frame Canon.

3 randoms from recent outings. 1 from Santa Pod, a bit of street photography and 1 from the seaside.

Nowhere near the quality of composition of everyone else's work, but here are the first few shots taken with my new G9, playing around in the garden with my macro tubes and the 14-140.

P1000678

I was keen to try out the in camera focus stacking with a macro shot. The camera shoots a short video at 6K varying the focus throughout. Stacking is carried out in camera to produce an image from the mp4 file.
Here's the MP4 (well Flickr said I could upload a video).
P1000673
As you may not be able to see, the video is about four seconds long. During which time the fruit thief moves about far too much for stacking to work. I've tried multiple times. The result has many heads, too many tentacles, or just plain fails to merge.

Conclusion: Even with focus stacking automated and in camera, it's too slow to be useful for something as fidgety as a wasp. I did get some decent results shooting a watch dial, although the moving seconds hand had some displeasing artefacts.

Love the b/w one. Something about b/w photos that makes it such an emotive medium.

Honda Hornet 600 Cup, shot as a cheap equipment test with an old D300 and 35mm I picked up for £100.

In this case b&W was a way of dealing with the busy background which had lots of distracting blocks of colour. The fact that it fits in nicely with the period of the car was added bonus.

It may be getting too cool for T-shirt and shorts and past the equinox but don't give up on summer yet.
