It's not been discussed on here yet. Is everyone aware of the new limits?

Yeah, Mavic Pro. Being honest I don't think the pics are as sharp as the ones from the Inspire X3. The portability is a huge bonus though.

It was 1,000 feet (subject to visual range) before.

As I said over 3 years ago (when the rules stated that we weren't allowed to fly over 400 ft).. the 400 ft limit is made by people who live in the flatlands and don't understand hills.

I understand the concept, but we don't all live in places where 400 ft means anything. A minute from my house, I can take off at 20 ft, and fly DOWN for 5 seconds and be at an altitude of over 1000 ft. The only place I can faithfully obey the law is over the sea. If I fly in a straight line, I can be at over 1500 ft and crashing into the ground within a few seconds.

Mind you the nearest policeman is two hours drive away, and I haven't seen him for over a decade, so I doubt I'll ever have a tap on the shoulder.

Registration in November, I agree with. Flying near airports is just stupid.

I agree with the new regs, stop the idiots and the crims, but nobody will ever enforce them here, without future tech.

Wanna' guess my altitude for this pic? (Bearing in mind that when I took off it said zero feet). Am I more than 400 ft off the ground?

I would say not. You may be a lot higher above you than 400 feet though - what counts is what is below the ground, and the CAA appear to be taking a sensible approach to cliff's etc.

Yea, I get that. It's a guide. All looks very neat doesn't it... unfortunately there is no way of knowing how high you are relative to the land below, only the point of origin. (As I'm sure you know). As I mentioned earlier, within seconds I could be @100 foot or 1000 ft. the hills round here don't look like the one above!

It’s a guide, but the law but I get where you are coming from and agree. It’s aimed at those taking the piss, and with registration will get easier to police.

There is also talk of being forced to log into some sort of geolocation app so that they can really track people down.

Interesting perspective of the villa I’m staying at currently in Greece

There’s also a free flight mode that starts at a point and ends up with the globe at the end of the video, I’ll post that on the video thread.
