I am enjoying this show but the judges are very hard to please especially Oliviero Toscani. The British guy who is in the Army seems to be getting the best praise.

Just watching the one back stage at the theatre...

Some nicely spotted images though. Those war photographers seem at home.

Two things - that woman who keeps on going "this isn't what I expected" and "it's all so amateur"..... Grrr! Why is she even there?

.....And why don't any of them know how to use a fking lens hood!!!??????

Loved Franco Fontana, he seemed to have a lovely way with words, even if they were subtitled lol

Contains spoilers.

Yes agreed, but I was completely lost by the comments of Oliviero Toscani on Fontana's work, he seemed to extract meaning and emotion to me that was completely absent. Maybe I just don't see it, but I couldn't find anything in Fontana's work beyond the rigid composition and use of colour.

Can't believe that once again, some of the contestants ignored the advice of the pro when choosing their frame, then seemed upset when the judges shot them down. Crazy. Still, could have been worse, if both ladies had shown their 'self-portraits' with the dark rocks, it could have been very awkward (I'll admit I thought Laura's photo was good, even if her desire to get into every shot is really starting to grate). I agreed with dropping Neil, it was the right choice as he seemed to lack the ability to convey a message, a sizeable error in the competition, versus the others making little errors. Rupert, whilst it's good to see where he's coming from, it felt way too much, and he can't keep playing that card.

It's novel and interesting the first time, but by this episode just bored me, glad she got called out for it being borderline Narcissism, not sorry to see her go

This whole episode was a bit "meh" for me

+1

Really wanted some of the others, especially Rupert to do so much better, too.

Mightily impressed with myself for carrying on chugging away at it. I have lower blood pressure after a caffeine overdose.....

+1 I'm glad she's gone, was worried they might drop Rupert, he knew he'd dropped the ball that time. Strange, Marta's work was impressive, yet it felt like they focused on her work the least during the episode. I'm going to see it through to the end, but I feel like I've learnt very little, other than how picky some people feel they've earned the right to be.

I've wondered how Marta has survived this entire time as all she seems to do is have a borderline breakdown over how hopeless it all is but this time I quite liked what she came up with.

The next episode is the last, wonder if its going to come back next year?

to echo the comments above - im very glad that the German girl got called out for what she was - a narcissist. i really hope that Rupert comes through, his work this week was weak and i too was worried that he might get binned.

ive stuck with it and will see it through to the end but i dont think it will get a second run.

I have to agree with the others that it's good that Laura has been given the boot for her very narcissistic photos. Although Rupert had a poor week this time I do feel that overall he and Gabrielle have been the two best photographers in the series as a whole but Marta did do a very good portfolio and gave the judges exactly what they were looking for with that week's assignment. I would like to see a second series.

I thought the winner deserved the title. Overall he was the best photographer in the series. I agreed with Yan getting voted off as of the last four photographers I felt his work was the weakest. Marta did very well to get in to the last three. I think it was her photos of her family that kept her in for so long. They are going to be making another series and are asking for photographers to register an interest in doing so for the next series.

Yup, surprised to see its being renewed for another season, I felt it kind of run out of puff towards the end

The wife has suggested I go for the next series, might do it for a laugh, anyone else?

New series starts tonight on Sky Arts at 8pm. The hyper critical Italian judge is still on the show.

It may just be me, but I find it a load of pretentious twaddle. They also seem to have trouble understanding the brief , Travel Photography.

I would have been more excited to have been underwhelmed.

However judges comments about some of it being flat when they had the unkindest lighting conditions you could wish for for two and a half hours was a bit lame.....

This Hamburg Rush Hour task is really getting me shouting at the screen!!!

Why are they all so fking negative - they've been parachuted in with enough time to start planning their shots - yet we start moaning about no people being around; then we're taking staged shots of individual people.... smash...then we're wondering why the sex workers don't want their pictures taken at 6:30 rolleyes

Really didn't like the Belgian girl's posed shots, both segments that highlighted her setups just looked silly to me.

I feel this whole series so far has been forgettable, I'll stick with it but it feels like it's loosing steam, doubt we'll see a third series
