Get an a7r mk2

The iq is fantastic, and you can set it up to be small and lightweight ( with say 35/2.8 ) or if you throw on a grip and 70-200/2.8 its chunky but still a little lighter than the slr equivalent.

Ive found the AF on my a7r2 with adapted canon lenses great, with sony lenses and the eye af thing its supposed to be superb.
...is what I did.

No regrets... though shallow dog field is more difficult. In all other respects, I’m a happy bunny.

Interesting reading this.
I wouldn’t worry about the AF in the a7RII or X-T2, both absolutely fine for kids (and Motorsport, which actually isn’t that taxing for AF systems). Eye AF on the a7RII is pretty incredible, I have a 3 year old and I’ve never got as many keepers as I do now with the Sony.
