Gents,

I ordered a used lens and although cosmetically, it appears to have had a hard life - the lens appeared to be in good working order.

I have been out shooting with this lens, along with my 35mm DX f1.8 prime.

I was using this lens for some long exposures and the results are very average to say the least, especially compared to the 35mm prime. However, the images from daylight exposures appear fine. The street lights look awful on the 24mm.

Examples below:

I have the option to return the lens for a full refund.
My question is:

Is this typical performance of an older, non ED coated lens? Or is this particular lens at fault?

All input greatly appreciated.

Thanks guys!

Chris

It doesn't look right to me. If both ends are properly clean I'd send it back.

Thanks Simpo Two. Returned and refund received.

If anyone else is looking, Adorama were great about this lens purchase!
