Your top 5 for 2018
Discussion
I've finally got what I feel are my better shots onto Flickr. Please be gentle, and bear in mind I only upgraded from my bridge camera in September, so I'm still definitely a beginner. My hope is this time next year, I'll be able to see what progress (if any) I've made, and I'll have been able to get out places.
My favourite 5, in chronological order:

Scale by Cherie Palmer, on Flickr
Washed Up by Cherie Palmer, on Flickr
Charmouth Beach Sunset by Cherie Palmer, on Flickr

Another one with a quiet year here, still mainly light painting but did mange to get a couple of shots I like in daylight too.
I'd been looking for a tunnel like this for a while to get this kind of shot.

I'd also wanted to try some rotation shots, this is still the only one I feel is even close to nailed.

Had a lovely holiday in Provence in the summer to celebrate my Mum's 80th birthday.
Carpentras by Mike Gardiner, on Flickr
Found out about these sculptures and just had to try light painting them. They've all now been donated to the families of the soldiers graves that they stood by.
Poppies for Rememberance by Mike Gardiner, on link.photo
Last image was from a trip out with some friends where the main purpose was to help them develop their photograpic skills, still came away with this image from the day.
Autumn at the Waterfall by Mike Gardiner, on link.photo
As ever the standard in here continues to be incredibly high even if everyone seems to be getting out less.

2018 was a better year for me, I traded my DSLR for a mirrorless system, which seems to have got me motivated to shoot more.
In chronological order:
Partridge by Lewis Craik, on Flickr
This was the only photo I took with my 5D and 70-200f2.8L - from an upstairs window at home. Realising that my best lens hadn't even left the house was part of the reason I switched to Fuji.
I picked up the Fuji before a weeks holiday in Devon, perfect for getting used to the system.
Owen by Lewis Craik, on Flickr
Ilfracombe by Lewis Craik, on Flickr
Swapping to a lighter system meant I had the camera with me more often, I wouldn't have had a camera with me for these last two photos:
Hiding by Lewis Craik, on Flickr
Autumn colours on the Trent and Mersey Canal by Lewis Craik, on Flickr

All accounts mine. Let me know if you look at my streams and please get in touch if you've a shared love of documenting empty Britain.
Those are great. I normally go for a wander early Christmas day around central London to do the same thing but it looks like some very early summer mornings are called for.Bit late but here's mine after a VERY difficult time choosing.
Some awesome images on here as usual.

Cheers mate - I'll check your stream out later - get in touch through Flickr and hopefully our paths will cross one early morning? Have a great weekend. Gassing Station | Photography & Video | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
