Video here - http://video.google.com/videoplay?doc
Taken from the beta testing stage so the driver graphics aren't at their best but the cars are.

I don't know how many of you have Nascar Racing 2003 but with Mods like Trucks, Sports cars, GTP's (Jaguar XJR12's, Sauber C8's Mazda & Toyota's) 1967 Sports cars (Ferrari 330, Lola T70's etc...) and these 1970's Nascars and being based on a modified GPL phyiscs engine I wholly recommend you to look at it. And loads of tracks available too - these are just the road courses - www.simracingconnection.com/nascar/n2k3road.shtml Daytime & Nightime racing.

Here's a few screenshots of the GTP cars as I haven't done any for the 1970's cars but that's why the video is there

Outof interest how much did you pay as it's difficult to come by and someplaces are a little pricey.

Been tracking a few since your first post and most of them go for silly money ... £50 - £60. Managed to find a poorly listed one and got it for £23 + postage - result !

Had a quick go last night, pretty good, just need to download a few of the add-on's now.

The ovals are a bit boring but you need to seriously concentrate as it only takes one little tap and carnage!

Loads of proper road circuits done for NR2003, inlcuding the Isle of Man, the GPL conversion

Ps and driving the Nurburgring in a GTP car is the business (Rothmans livery car above going through the carrusell)

Id credit it as the best feeling simulation out there, even after all these years.

Being a european (and an ex formula ford racer here in blighty) the ovals never really appealed to me.

It wasnt until i purchased NASCAR racing 4 that i began to see just how tough they are. Any mistake and you get eaten alive! So its basically 3 hours of immense concentration, making sure you pace yourself so as not to destroy your tyres, but also keep it neat enough to maintain pace and avoid trouble. Mistakes on ovals are usually DNFs!

Whilst i love GTR and its one my friends all adore when they come over (when i crank up the volume on the 7.1 and let them loose with the projected screen), i find it very difficult to ascertain the grip levels of the tyres in it, especially when it comes to braking - i can lock a tyre and not know about it until i try to turn the wheel.

nr2003 on the other hand seems to give me far more feedback in this regard, the cars feel much better imo.

I look forward to the iracing simulation (they recently launched their web site over at www.iracing.com ).

So what do you think after trying it for a while?

Got the GTP cars yet?
