Some feedback if you please.
Discussion
I've been trying to practice my car photographs lately and experiment with different things so I can improve but I'm not sure if I'm really getting anywhere.
I took these of my new toy today but I'm unsure as to whether I like them or not. They've been fiddled with in photoshop a tad but I'll note that under each pic.
Some feedback would be appreciated for areas to improve on
I thought the original was a bit bland in colour so I adjusted the colour balance to make it a bit more green.
The image was a bit bright and overexposed at the top of the shot so I added a gradient in the hope of making it a bit more moody.
I think this is a bit underexposed but if I brighten the shot up, the sky becomes washed out and too bright.
I'm quite pleased with this but I'm not sure about the large void in the trees
Thanks all in advance

I think in the first one, the Landy looks somehow fake, ie photoshopped on.
I like the others, maybe a bit more contrasty, as suggested.
It appears to be a bit of a dull day, but then again, you were in a wood, maybe a really brightre day needed?
You could also (IMO lol) make it a bit more Landyish, ie have it muddy or on a bigger stump for a bit of articulation.
Nice truck Btw.

I like the tone of the background trees in the first one, yes the landie does look a bit cut out but I think the problem may be that silver birch tree in the mid left foreground. Cloning it out would be difficult but maybe you could clone in (or healing brush in) some of the green lichen on the bright white part at the bottom ?
The large gap in the trees does look a bit awkward in the fourth one, I'd suggest cropping off about a quarter of the image on the left, or even just trimming off that last tree on the left of the picture.

I think I'll have a play with the contrast and see what I can come up with, I'm sure they're missing a little 'something'.
It was a lovely day in between clouds. Just as I was going to take a shot the sun would pop behind a cloud and stay there. I think the camera was adjusting to the bright sky as well. The combination of a bright sky and dark land rover probably wasn't great for the metering.
Oh it'll get muddy once my health is a bit better and I can get onto some proper off road areas I tried hard to find a bigger stump, I did find one but it was a bit rotten and the edge started to crumble as I was driving up it, so chose a smaller but more sturdy one.
Thank you

I'll have a go with trying to sort that silver birch out. I didn't think it would intrude on the shot quite as much as it has done
I like the first one alot, reminds me a bit of "House of FLying Daggers"! agree about the silver birch though. Like the cropped version of the last one much better too.
Can I ask where abouts those were taken? as I see your from around here and I've been looking for some places to go offroad...

These weren't really off road as such. It was just off the road by Rushmoor Arena. It's not a greenlane or anything, just a little patch of trees at the side of the road.
Have a look at the Land Rover forum on here for a thread about lanes in the area

GetCarter said:I really wanted a SW but they were all vastly overpriced . I weighed up the costs of getting a HT with all the kit and a SW without the kit. The HT came out better as I can put windows and seats in the rear of mine for about £300...which will be done eventually To buy the snorkel, steering guard, new seats, cubby box, spots etc etc it would've come to a lot more. SW's were a couple of grand more expensive without the kit.
O/T (but on topic)
1/ Why not the stationwagon?
2/ You could always go a bit arty (not that I am any expert)
... but FYI - here's my automotive wellington boot.
I've been trying to find a lane of some sort which will take me onto a hill/somewhere with a nice view so I can take a few arty shots of it.
Not sure there's any wind farms around here, so I can't compete with that
