The only animal that views humans as prey and will actively hunt them... But I thought the Kodiak Bear was the biggest land carnivore?

A polar bear is supposed to be just about the most dangerous animal you could meet. Hungry, huge, fast and powerful.
but he's so cute and cuddly, and look, he's smiling . . .

Eeeek!

I find bears to be probably the most scary animal - I recall a friend 'meeting' a polar bear in the wild (much as in this photo) and described how the bear simply looked at him as lunch. A baleful stare devoid of all emotion - 'you're food and I'll eat you, probably in the most hideous way imaginable'.
I knew they were big, but could;nt quite comprehene how big they were until now. My head could probabaly fit inside his jaws without too much effort.

I am in no way condoning animal cruelty here, but wouldn't you just want to give it a quick slap? It's not often you'd have the perfect opportunity!

Polar bears are the only land animals that sit at the top of a food chain in which humans are a natural part. IIRC.
