Is it possible to get a performance filter for a V6 S2?

Yes I have the K&N 57i kit on my S2 but you will have to space the air flow meters with brackets to fit them, also at around £120 it's not cheap! Cheers Lee P.S a new Pipercross is only £30 from a dealer!

Well I am not sure of any real advantage apart from the K&N can be cleaned and reused but then I didn't know the Pipercross could be cleaned too!.The K&N also has a million mile warranty and is supposed to give upto 10bhp increase in power but I for one have never noticed it! I use them because I have always used them on my race Mini's so it's just habit!.As for Marcus cleaning it well I don't know but that lovely alloy rad surely makes up for it! I won't be at LeMans as I have just started a new job and am very busy but I hope to go next year! Cheers LeeBee

Lee you have the garage in oxford right? I was wondering how much a clutch kit would cost and how much to fit it? How hard are they to do? I would like to have a go myself but have only done a mini one.

Just found my parts manual which states the following...... Air filter (2.9) S28E 10016 (2.9 CAT) S28E 10030 These numbers may have been replaced by now but the dealer should have them on record. Not sure of the difference between the catted car and standard apart from the airflow meters but I would imagine that the filter is the same? (would TVR go to the trouble of getting a new back plate and filter made??) Cheers LeeBee

Pipercross Air Filter Cleaner Pipercross produce a cleaning kit, it contains a bottle of cleaner (smells of oranges!!) which you leave to soak for some time, then rinse it through from the inside out, then allow to dry & use the second item, a can of spray on oil, this holds the particles in the air better than the foam alone. I bought it in Peterborough & the place has gone bust since. However there is a place in Northampton Town Centre that stocks all Pipercross filters (or can get them) and they have a cleaner kit. Mine had probably gone without a clean for some many 10's of thousands of miles, the black dust & crap just flooded out of it. regards Giles GB

Lee B & Steve P, Thanks for the p/n info guys. My filter is probably the original and could do with a clean. Damn, I was in Northampton on Saturday. Roy

In Northampton - The shop is a bolt-on-boys type of place aimed at the max power brigade but it is owned by a bloke who works for Pipercross (Pipercross are based in N'ton. You'll find it in the mews off Gold Street, near the big Argos store. GB

I was in Halfords the other day and they stock Pipercross air filters (well the one in Newbury did) so they might have the cleaner in stock? Cheers LeeBee

I think the Newbury store is one of the new 'Wide Boy' stores. Were you tempted by the under car lighting? -- Mark

Undercar lighting? damn must have missed that!!.I was after some rather weird motorcycle spark plugs for my race Mini (special temp rating etc) which they had but the bloke/ 5 year old gave me a wrong one and nowhere else does the buggers! so I now have 3 I have realised however that I saw the air filters in Oxford (where I live, hence a pain to go back to Newbury just for 1 plug) which is your average blue and red Halfords as opposed to the orange and black variety Cheers LeeBee P.S saw a Nova one night with underbody strobe lighting go past my old workshop, it looked like he had a very large short circuit!

You should be able to NGK B8ES from most motorbike shops, I presume that’s the plug you’re using. Partco will order them but you have to buy a box of 10.
