Just have a feel underneath the sill on each side and check whether the gap between the sill and the outrigger tube is more or less equal.
If there is a significant gap on one side and none at all on the other side, there's a good chance the body is not centred properly on the chassis.

Edit: Assuming of course that the new outriggers ( if they have been replaced ) have been fitted to the correct dimensions! This can be verified by measuring from the outriggers to the inner chassis rails.
A chassis and body geometry check can show up a lot of interesting stuff! smile

Have you tried removing/slackening body mounting bolts to see if it will shove over a bit to centralise?
Not looked at that yet phillpot, not dealt with any body stuff yet, so would need to investigate where the mounting bolts etc are. Is it a big job? If I got the overhang even on both sides, reduced the spacer to the bare minimum to get it away from the trailing arm I might just get away with it; the situation could then be improved with 215 wheels in future. But then 15 inchers like it was designed for might just be an overall smarter choice - 16s on the back were supposed to be an easy option cos plenty of other S owners had done it and I had a free set from a mate!

I'd love to know what might be causing the 13mm difference in driveshaft length; are they supposed to be the same left and right?
The driveshafts are designed to accommodate quite a large range of "plunge" to allow for a large range of suspension movement.
If you removed them and compared them both in their compressed state, they would be the same length.

Loads of info on body lifts etc on this forum,:

Useful links > S Series FAQs
Owners blogs, How to's etc.

A wealth of advice from experienced S owners:
some learned the hard way so you don't have to.

Thanks to all of you. thumbup

Never measured mine but quite possible the "diff" is not central?
