Dutch TVR oldies & S-meeting (May 29 @ 11:00 - 17:00)
Discussion
Would be a different route plan from the far north. Overnight Friday on Hull Rotterdam gets to Rotterdam Saturday early. An hour and a half to Helmond for any Saturday activities dinner, etc. Convoy to the event Sunday then back to Rotterdam for overnight home, back on the BHol Monday so need for a day off work. Would that fit? Is the plan to stay Sat night near Helmond - I'm guessing that's Han And Anita's home town?

Early days, but that's the high level plan.Edited by RayTVR on Wednesday 20th January 21:57
Evening all
Update time...
I've been in regular contact with Han throughout today and for the following reasons we are not going to make this event an S Club Euro Tour. It will become part of THE S Club Euro Tour for 2016.
Wednesday night 1. In Calais. Rooms are already on hold at our usual hotel.
Wednesday night 2. Overnight ferry from the north.
Thursday, Friday and Saturday. Doing what we do best on the flowing roads through the Ardennes, Eifel & Luxembourg, finishing in or near Helmond (where Hanitas live) for Saturday night. Calais group to meet those from the north, including Hanitas, Thursday lunchtime. Somewhere.
Sunday. Scenic drive to the show in the morning, arrive lunchtime to cheers of delight from our hosts in the Dutch TVRCC. Show in afternoon then back to hotel.
Monday. Head for home leaving Holland to wonder what the hell has just happened...
Additonal options include:
1. Going direct from UK to the show hotel on Saturday for those who do not want to extend their trip, and
2. staying somewhere like Bruges as suggested by Joe for those who do not want to travel home Monday.
Feel free to keep adding your names to the list in this topic, but I'll start a new topic when I've worked out the route, hotels, costs, etc. Hopefully after this evening on it already, it will only take a couple of weeks to finalise everything. In the meantime I will be booking my chunnel for approx. 20.00 on 25/5 & 13.30 on 30/5 in the next couple of days.
Cheers for now,
L'rs

- This show will not be repeated for a very long time, if ever, and I think it'll be great to go to. I (and I expect some others) haven't got the time to do this and another tour later in the year.
- As said previously, Han and Anita are huge S Club supporters (well, Han is and Anita is very tolerant of Han!) so it's only fair we show them some S Club love.
- The original idea I have been working on for Sept can be used next year. In fact it will be better next year because without the Le Mans Classic in July we will have the chance to go a bit earlier in the year when the weather should be better.
- The proposed plan ticks lots of S Club Euro Tour boxes with some great roads to explore and a minimum of time standing still (during daylight hours anyway!)

This sounds like an excellent plan and I would like to participate. My normal (in the sense of regular) passenger Kevin would not be available for this trip as he will be in Canada. I will talk to Niiige if he is going. I certainly would stay in Calais on the first night.
Jolly good fun!
Cheers

Thanks for the positive responses. It's reassuring to know that the idea of this becoming THE 2016 tour has been well received.
I updated our calendar last night. Mrs L'rs eyebrows were raised "a bit" when she realised I will be doing 3 car trips in 5 weeks. Oh well, she'll have me to herself for the rest of the year. Apart from the LMC weekend obviously
