Hi.

Although my car and wiring are supposed to be a 2.8 I only have a wiring diagram for a 2.9

what exactly does fuse 'a' do labelled IGN Control?. It takes a feed from the ignition switch (along with 7 other fuses)

then goes to the Rev Counter (changing to red part way there)

After the rev counter to the cold start resistor.

I have a major problem with the fuse/relay holder and it is no longer in the car. I am looking for what could now be redundant wires

Slightly puzzled Mick. Fuse is in line between ignition switch on and tacho feed. 15amp. Wires in and out of fuse are both white. White wire connects to short red at tacho (not to white!). Short white out of tacho connects to white/yellow and on to cold start resistor then coil +ve.
Fuse a does nothing else. Without fuse a or tacho in circuit (or wrong way round) it wont start.

You have to remember I run a Cossy 24v and don't use the original speedo or any other ign parts, but until now I have used the original fuse box and wiring

In the 2.8 it served as the power feed to the coil via the tacho. If your using a different tacho, you probably don't need it. but to confirm, start the car make sure every thing works then pull the fuse. If everything is still working then you don't need it. I have a Cossy and a 2.8 circuit hidden in the loft somewhere so i can check.

If I was to do a rewire and a new fuse board installed, is this any good?

looks ok to me, you might want to go a bit bigger to give you a few spares just in case you add any auxiliary circuits or want to split up any that share a fuse in the existing box?

No doubt our new resident wiring expert will be along shortly put you right wink

I suggest you go bigger than you need, plus a bit more. The one posted below looks great. My new fuse box has quite a few more fuses and relays than the original but it could still do with more.

While you're replacing it, it would be worth looking at a better way to mount it. The original on mine started off rigidly mounted to the ECU mounting bracket (which meant it was impossible to get at) and ended up left loose and just rattling around. The new one still sits on the carpet that forms the top of the passenger footwell, although it's bigger and fairly well trapped in place now - I did at least improve the carpet attachment. I seem to remember Joe did a very neat sliding tray for his which is a much better solution.

Hi Mick.
I went for these in the end, easy to add a extra fuse or relay block if needed, all from ebay. the 3 green wires are from 3 main fuses.

Hi Alan

That looks very good - I presume you have waterproof / dust covers as this area will get wet

Did someone suggest you use those 3 x 10 Way Fuse Boxes?
I don't mean to offend, the way you are going about this job is wromg
I haven't much time to spend here right now to explain the mistakes made, I will wait and see if you are concerned or not
One more question. Are you fitting and wiring 30 driving lamps or similar and supplying their relay's with those 3 x 10 Way Fuse Boxes?

What are those 3 x 10 Way 3 x Supplies in to 30 Supplies out for?
Why are you using relays with built in fuses?
What are the 8 fuse holders with 7 fuses fitted for?
What is the single 100 AMP relay beside the 8 fuse holders for? I'm guessing it's for cranking but shouldn't be guessing
Are those 2 x 6 relay plates waterproofed underneath where the cables exit them?
What are those 2 x 6 relay plates for?
Are these images of the engine bay? I think these items are in the engine bay but my thinking can be dangerous at times

Have you a complete list of all the lights, motors, etc that will be fitted and wired to complete the job and if so are you able to post it here?
Are you making the wiring harness?
