SCH 2017 who is going?

So you're going to drag your car three or four hundred miles to stick it in a field for a few hours so a few brain dead oiks can make informed comments like
"what is it?"
"How fast does it go"
"My mate had one, a TR7"
and of course "It's a TVR, they always break down" (which won't be helped by it leaving on a trailer )
That's commitment
Most people who attend the Uxbridge Auto Show arrive in something interesting and are car enthusiast and therefore is the perfect opportunity to generate awareness amongst new potential buyers."what is it?"

Brilliant parade of Ss today and a great use of the TVR stand, well done. You all certainly gave my son some ideas who thinks his MX5 is boring and seized the opportunity to workout the differences between the S1. S2, S3, S4 and V8s.
Hopefully next year we'll see the rarest of all Rover V8s, a "TVR S 2-Litre V8 supercharged", anyone got any pictures???
Great to see so many at S Club today, and nice to meet some new folk and some excellent cars I hadn't seen before (Loving the blue S4)
I had a mildly entertaining journey back, as I got as far as the main road before I had the 'Complete lack of electricity' problem again. Being a TVR, of course a suitable fix was to jer-jer-jiggle some stuff and then sailed home the 260 or so mile with no further hiccups. Still a bit baffled, but I now know the cause but have some more investigation to do.
I'd like to say a big thank you to everyone who supported the raffle with great prizes and so generously bought tickets. (Sorry for winning the star prize, but as I've had one original indicator for years, finding a matching one for the pair was too good an opportunity to pass. I'll make sure the raffle fund is suitably recompensed)
As you know we are donating to 'Daisy Chain' a charity which supports families with autistic children in the North East and also Alzheimers society, which are both great causes. I spoke with Alison tonight and she really appreciates the support and asked me to pass on thanks to all who helped. When we have totted it all up we'll post on here so you know how much was raised.
And of course, massive thanks to Alan and Glen who worked incredibly hard to make it all happen, Best Regards Ray

Thanks for those kind words Ray, glad you made it back home without further problems.
I did spot a couple of S's having a rest beside the M40, but I only clocked them at the very last minute due to dicing with heavy traffic.
I wasn't able to stop to see if they were making a brew, but it was a not an ideal spot for a picnic.
I intended to turn back at the next junction but there wasn't one for many miles, so in the end I carried on like they did on Top Gear.
Sorry lads, but I wouldn't have been much help anyway because I had left most of my touring spares and tools at home to make space for all the SCH paraphernalia.
Who was it, and why did you choose that spot? Hope you soon got sorted.

Thanks to Alan and Glen for their efforts, we had a great time!
Sorry we weren't around much - it was a big show and I ran up quite a long time on the Imp stand In fact, I was so out of the loop I completely forgot I brought a load of those quickshift gearlevers for people!
Great to meet the few people I did and look forward to next year. I'll wash it first this time, see if I can retain my crown!
Cheers

Thanks to Alan and Glen for all their hard work yesterday.
It was good to put faces to some of the names on here and to generally chat about our cars. As a result of which I have a list of modifications I would love to add to my car but realistically will never possess the required skill to carry them out.
Excellent prizes in the raffle too and all monies going to excellent causes. Thanks again fellas.

A long journey for us from the Lake District but we had a great weekend and lovely to meet everyone (old faces and new)
The S4 performed faultlessly over nearly 600 miles, the first half on the way down in biblical levels of rain, but then warm (very) and dry for almost all of the remainder, although it did hammer down briefly on the way home while on the motorway with the roof down, much to the amusement of other drivers! Speeding up worked until we found an exit...

Caught short with the roof off, Paul? Most of us have already been there and done that and we've got the ( wet ) T-shirts as well.
You get much wetter if you stop!
However, it is a well known fact that every single S has only ever seen dry summer use!
Thanks to you and Sue for making the effort to come all that way for S Club Heaven.
Glad that the S4 hasn't disappointed. You don't know how close I came to buying it, the only reason I didn't was because I have nowhere to keep another TVR.
