Greetings gents,
after owning it for 2years & having a year of absolute headaches resulting in a full body off restoration & tons of engine work, mods, upgrades, im considering parting with my S1. Im obviously not going to get the money back ive spent on it but ive done my best to keep another S on the road & despite the bright green hoses it is a solid example of an S smile
It will be on ebay/ph/autotrader pretty soon unless i keep it through the winter, i just cant afford to keep & run 3 cars so one has got to go & even possibly the 2 (if it plays up on me!)
I have just got one more issue to resolve on the S before the sale which is a very slow oil leak coming from the gearbox bell housing! .. Typical

Big thanks for all the meets ive managed to get to (still cant believe i made it to the peak district run well, kind of, as i got lost somwhere on the run out laugh) & thanks for all the advice & help ive had with my S, met some really down to earth people, no doubt ill still come to some of the meets, just in a different TVR now.. From this day on one shall be known as a 'darksider' rolleyes

Cheers & Thank you again
Steve

Hi Steve

Are you sure the leak is coming from the bell housing?

Mine had a small and slow leak and I was convinced it was coming from a similar place, until I noticed a pool of oil around the distributor which was then running down the bell housing and onto the exhaust. Just thought it might be worth a mention as changing the oil seal on the distributor shaft is a far easier job than splitting the engine and box!
