I think the Breakfast is winning biggrin
It's not a competition Mike. And if it was I don't think the Wicked Witch of Wellesbourne would appreciate all of the NEC visitors parking at the Touchdown Cafe, even just for a short spell!

scratchchin Perhaps they should have put the new Griffith on display at Wellesbourne so that more people could see it?

Well guys just got back...you will enjoy it...

Not sure about the new Griff, it still looks like it has been designed by committee...

...but i am serious about my comments (my opinion).

If you want to see how to do it with continuity of style, pop across the hall and check out the DB11... mmmm nice wink

However, star of the show is...THE S.... and its green with stripes...what could be better. It is owned by James who is new to the S fraternity, so seek him out when you are there and make him welcome to the team...he is the young guy (Probably the only TVR person under 40 there) with the beard.

Also met a guy who wanted a photo taken with me...apparently I have taught him everything he knows about mechanic'ing .... wink

Yep, enjoyed the show, change of plan meant we had to go Friday not Saturday*. (Sorry Glen, but we did still support the club).
Still unsure about the new Griffith but loved the very early Griffith (Grantura body), what a beast to drive that must have been.

Had a good long chat with James Birch about his recent purchase S3(C?) and he will be joining us on PH. A very nice car he is determined to look after.

I know that not every one of us is a club member (censored) but we do need to support our club, and they put on a good effort to welcome us at the NEC.clap
(Incidentally what is Wellesbourne 'winning'? irked)

We didn't get voted best club magazine last year without a lot of club member effort. I did thank them for the sheer delight they clearly brought to Max and Lucia for a full page spread on their wedding. (Tight non members will have to cadge a copy to read it!!;)) I am very much looking forward to the S Scotland report in a copy in the near future.

  • big thanks to Alan461 for helping another S owner beer

I had a good long look at James' car after he asked me about it, even to the extent of looking to see if it had the wider track wishbones, as well as the normal S3C giveaway of lambda sensors and no air flow meters. It's definitely an S3C, albeit with an S4C bonnet. It's a lovely car!

I also advised him to join this forum - lots of knowledge for the TVRS owner!

Impressed by the new Griffith, but have to admit I also liked the 1965 version in front of it!

James is a great chap. Apparently I have credit for either a) teaching him spannering or b) accompanied by Mr Raven teaching him drinking....

Classic & Sports Car Club Awards winners revealed
Clubs

It’s that time of year when the incredible work carried out by classic car clubs and their members throughout the past 12 months is recognised: the Classic & Sports Car Club Awards sponsored by Lancaster Insurance, which took place on 10 November at the Lancaster Insurance Classic Motor Show.

This year’s judging was more difficult than ever before thanks to a terrifically strong and diverse set of entries covering all segments of the classic car world, from multi-million pound Bugatti racers through to humble Morris Minors. While your cars may differ, you share a drive to preserve history for future generations, broaden the appeal of our hobby, and adapt to an ever-changing, increasingly technology focused world – all qualities reflected in this year’s winners.

A packed event calendar made selecting the Best Club Run/Rally winner difficult, with the TVR Car Club’s Back Home, New Home tour and the Sunbeam Tiger Owners’ Club’s 1700-mile California tour both capturing the judges’ imagination, but the overall winner was the Figaro Owners’ Club for its Yorkshire Dales Figaro Rally. Jane Ellison-Bates co-ordinated the impressive effort, for which some of the 59 cars taking part had travelled from the continent.

Any disappointment felt by the TVR Car Club was short-lived, with the organisation picking up the much-coveted Club of the Year award thanks to a series of brilliant events celebrating the marque’s 70th anniversary. The standout events included the club’s tour from the firm’s old home in Blackpool to its new factory in Wales, as well as a record turnout for its Pre 80s Gathering at Donington.
