Veneer? I think something got lost in translation
London Carriage craft can repair your panel

Interested to know whether these guys (all mentioned so far) did the full job i.e. remove dash / refurbish dash / re-fit dash?
If so, what sort of prices were they charging and was there a good selection of vaneer options available?
One last question - is there anyone closer to South Wales that could provide this end-to-end service for me?
Thanks all and apologies for all the questions...

Removing the dash is a horrible job and you'll be lucky to find someone capable of doing it properly. It's time consuming and tricky so therefore expensive. To re-veneer a dash and center console plate will cost in the region of £400 or so. Less the further you are from London
Just finishing doing this job now. Not too difficult but the main task is separating the small circuit board from the back of the panel. The LEDs are soldered onto the printed circuit board which in turn are glued into the various light apertures in the panel. Care needs to be taken separating the panel from the LEDs. For that reason before you start the job buy a set of these LEDs off eBay as some of them will get damaged in the separation process - you’ll have to solder in the replacements...... and because they’re leds they are polarity sensitive so you only know if you’ve soldered them in correct way around if they light up when you test it all with the power connector in place and ignition on. Finally you need to remove the two small mounting brackets off the back of the old panel and araldite these onto the replacement panel.

If this is on a 'S' then yours has been modified. There are no LEDs, circuit boards or mounting brackets behind a standard dash.Unless you do a lot of night driving I'd suggest avoiding any unnecessary complications.
I did this job a while ago and still have the scars.See HERE.
Hey you guys, don't mock Toni's English spelling!
l'll wager that it's a lot better than your German language skills.
How many of you know what is the German word for "veneer"?
"Veneer" is a strange word, and in phonetic German, it sounds exactly as the OP has spelled it:
"funier". ( V is pronounced like our F )
It must be quite hilarious for a German to hear an Englishman pronounce "Volkswagen" !
It should be "Folksvargen", not "Vaulkswaggon".
Just sayin'.
I think we could all take English lessons from Maffe.

Was the work actually done at TVR-MADS or was it contracted out?He has a selection of woods and also metal finishes to choose from.
I'm hoping to get them back in by the end of the week and will post some before and after photos if that helps.
