Lucas alarm/immobiliser

Hi All,
I am sorting out the wiring on my S2 and have come across a Lucas 5AS alarm/immobiliser module.
I can't find any mention of them on the wiring diagram and looking at the connections to the loom it looks like it could be a typical TVR installation!
Has anyone removed this as I can't see what, if anything it does. I do not have a fob to arm/disarm the unit.
Any ideas?
I understand people will not want to reply on an open forum but a PM with any info would be useful.

Sounds non original to me and If you have no fob there's only one thing to do........ rip it out
