Hi All, by process of elimination I want to change my cabin heater control valve. Having looked up apparently it’s from a golf mk1, however the one I ordered is different orientation so won’t do.

Any ideas which one is an exact replacement please.

Thanks, Gary

The one on my V8S is a simple cable operated on/off valve and looks similar to the VW Golf one shown at http://volkswagenownersclub.com/vw/showthread.php/... The one on my S2 was similar as far as I can remember, and I thought this was common across all models. If yours is different, perhaps you could post a picture showing what you've got. It should be a simple inline fitting and I'm struggling to imagine how the valve on mine could be wrongly oriented.

Do you mean it's open when it should be closed and vice versa?

Mine is open/heating when the arm is pushed away from the outer cable clamp.

The one in this picture... clicky ... should be closed/off

Our great friends and frequent saviours CarBuilderSolutions have one that works perfectly. I also took the opportunity to fit it in line with a bleed valve as the heater tends to trap air.
