225/55 on 16's would increase the ride height by around 13mm over 205/60's on 15's so it's no wonder they rubbed.
Yeah, coz S wheels are so snug in the rear arches wink

205/55 all around is standard on the V8S. I've no idea what putting such low profile tyres on the back will do to the handling or ride but it's your car. And your spine laugh

I run the Oz on 205/60/15 all round and on the splits I run 205/50/16 on the front and 225/50/16 on the rear.

The car gives a more comfortable ride on the Oz, its a little harsher on the Splits, i don't have any issues with either set.

On a pick and mix basis maybe. As my post says, the ride is more comfortable on the Oz wheels, I know the chimera run on 15” front and 16” rear, why would you stagger the S? Is there any benefits

Ill have a look tomorrow at my splits. I believe they are 225 45 and they were absolutely fine. I switched them for slots as they need a refurb: will report back, but i never had a problem withe the size

I posted this some time ago. I found my original 8 spokes too vague and the car didn't handle the way I wanted it to.
I bought the replica rims and put decent tyres on and the car was transformed.
Far more stable at higher speed and was more comfortable ride.
Might be worth considering??
I wish I still had the car - miss it dearly cloud9
Post was as below......

Mine now sits on 16" with a slightly lower profile which i find better than the old 15" with baloon tyres.......not as much roll through the bends and far more stable at higher speed. Also looks more of a standard fitment IMO.

Thanks for the many replies.

this I think is the way I will head.
Took a lot of thought over these, but if interested they are Lenso 16 x 7.5 rims.

Have Bridgestone Potenza RE002 225x50x16 rears and 205x50x16 front.

Speedo largely unaffected by rolling distance.

Set of TVR centre stickers and they look like original OZ split rims.

To be fair, it's not that they're snug, it's that the arches aren't 'perfectly' formed, and you end up with bits that are closer to the wheel than others. Check out the pic of the two grey cars further up the page, and look how close the tyre is to the body at the rear of the arch. That's an extreme example, sure, but what with funny shaped arches, and a body that can be mounted too far back/forward, tyres can become more of issue.

Not if you run the size they were designed for, of course hehe

I currently have replicas on my V8S but have a set of OZ 8 spokes that are waiting to go on.

To be fair, that looks stunning as it is, and I'm an 8-spoke man!

I agree. I particularly like the OZ splits shown earlier with the black centers. Not sure why, perhaps it's because I suppose they might not show the dirt as quickly. But I struggle to find the time to keep my Imolas clean so I know better than to try anything like that on mine. smile

That is my problem. I like the replicas and the 8 spokes. The 8 spokes have been waiting to go on for a year and I have not got round to it because I do like the replicas. In hindsight I maybe should have looked for a set of original split rims.
