I am contemplating have a Tonneau cover made for my S3 however, never been happy with the way the hood sits proud of the body.
Advertised in Sprint are roof struts by Cambria Cirrus & they claim the roof sits lower in the body when down. Has anybody fitted these struts.
Thanks in advance.

Does the ad have any photo's? Think someone else has mentioned these, are they "double jointed" ?

Does ad specifically say "for S" or are they intended more for Chimaera/Griffith where the hood really does sit up high?

How much clearance do you have between the the top of the moulding where the seat belt mounts and the pram hood frame?

This is what limits how low the hood will go. If your pram hood frame is already sitting on the carpet then replacement struts won't allow it to go any lower.

Reasons why the rear section sits proud:

The plastic rear screen is a bit wide - Chimps, Griefs and the Tamora suffer worse as the window extends around the curve bit.

The pram hood / hoop needs spacing over with some washers to clear the carpet at the side - as per v8isme post above.

The struts bind around the window - especially if the 'towel' trick is used to keep the rear screen from being pinched.

The Cumbria Cirrus struts are a 'knuckle' hinge / joint like the central struts of their folding roof - rather than a folding hinge as the original struts.

I found the Chimp / Grief / Tamora struts give more room as they are slightly longer - new hole needed in the rear bulk head to fit. I bonded in a rivnut and large washer to make removal / adjusting a one man operation.

Or convert an MX-5 folding roof biglaugh

Thanks for the replies & information having a re-think on how to go forward with replacement struts.
