I'm delighted to report that my odometer has repaired itself ! bounce

It stopped working after a long & wet trip back from Scotland. It stopped on number 9.

Apparently they all do that eek

Thank you to everyone who told me that this was a common problem. I'd tried driving over cats eyes and tapping furiously on the speedo - but to no avail.

Joe very kindly sent me a long and detail guide to dash removal. That caused me several sleepless nights I can tell you !

Anyway, a combination of warmer weather, the heater on full blast for an hour and a half on the way to Burghley, strategic tapping, potholes and swearing and we are back in the land of the living !

I cannot describe just how happy and relieved I am. But to give you an idea - about as happy & relieved as I was on my first Euro Tour when I managed to avoid Glenn's sink plunger initiation ceremony !!

Have no fears Niiige, you need to rack up quite a few miles yet before you're ready to enjoy the Initiation into the Gentlemen's Touring Section.
Just keep focusing on that odometer clicking over, bringing you ever nearer.... wink

Nige - its probably a combination of all of the above in fairness. I beat mine quite brutally whilst driving over stippled white lines (the ones that keep you awake), before it clicked on - probably right on the edge of busting the dial cover.

So what you're saying is that you got out of removing the dash?

It’s one of the mysteries of TVR’s - how they magically repair themselves.

Pete - I’ve knock speedo knuckle - a lump from all the tapping ! My passenger on Sunday thought I’d gone doolally.

Joe, I hope to avoid the trial of a dash out job for as long as possible. It’s not that I’m scared exactly ....... !
