£6500 for the 350i and £12,000 for the 390SE, also with Footman James. Insurance cost is £130 for the pair.

Mines 7.5k and will be increased once I have dealt with the paintwork, Please remember that an agreed valuation should cover to replace like for like...Not the current market value...which fluctuates like casanovas trousers....hehe

Looking at these two - values are on the up so worth upping agreed values

All really depends on the condition - some models are hard to value as they rarely come up for sale so there isn't always a direct benchmark. Question is - if you had to replace it what could you get for that money?

I would say the other ones on car and classic are more representtice, 350i for 9.5k and 390 for £11k.

The restored orange one is very much "top of the range" - it's been fully restored and therefore commands a hefty premium.

With the prices going up I just had my renewal today and upped the value from £14k to £16k.

My thinking is that although I use the car every day and it gets wear and tear, generally prices are going up, and secondly it's now the only original 400SX, the other one having been fitted with a different blower apart from the resprrays and elephant heads under the bonnet.

So I reckon it's pretty rare.

Insurance is about putting you back to where you were before any accident or incident. Most restored cars, especially when most of the work is done by the owner, are hugely under-insured.

A nice properly restored wedge, especially an SE, should be insured for IRO £40k I would guess.
