MoT fail due to side repeaters too red (despite passing for the last 5 years)!
It looks like these are not originals but access from the back seems tricky so I'd prefer to see if there are any orange lenses available since these are just clipped on from the front.
Anybody recognise the make/donor car? No markings on lens or body that I can find.

I don't recognise those at all. And they're screwed on, which is a shame as it'll leave a hole if you remove them.

Probably best to find a set of the 90's Ford-style orange oval repeaters. They stand a better chance of covering up the hole left by those, as the original square ones would stand no chance.

Might be worth trying a green bulb in there first. Peugeot (and some others) use a green filter lens behind their all red rear lights to make them flash orange.

Thanks for the replies. If going with green bulbs works that’ll be an easy fix - they are amber at the moment.
TVR Spares are showing replacement amber side repeaters that are oval and push-in so should cover up the screw holes. However, this is likely to be tricky since I expect the connectors would be different and access to the back of the repeater has me stumped at the moment.

Which S is it? They're easily accessible in the S1 and S2 from the footwell.

I would expect the connector and cables to come back through the hole when you remove the fitting rather than needing to access it from the inside? If you replace with a different fitting you may, of course, need to change the connector.

Undo that (mangled!) self-tapper and pull the fitting gently out.

It’s an S3, H reg - I can’t see any access via the footwells and it seems the side walls are carpeted.

I started to do that and you can see one missing screw - it sheared off @#£&* so I stopped to think at that point hence the question on just trying to change the clip-in lens option.

I could try and undo the other screw and pull it out but I found an old thread that said the cable was too short to do that somlooking for easier options.

You won't know till you try smile

Personally I wouldn't bother messing around with green bulbs and those knackered old things, pair of these and stick 'em on with Sikaflex wink

Flapping? Me?

Oh alright then.

Doing the re-wiring on the 3000S was easy with the body off - I ain’t taking the body off the S3 to change a side repeater!
If I could see the back of the repeaters I wouldn’t hesitate to change them - and I do seem to make a habit of turning a 10 minute job into a weekend’s work or longer . . .

And there’s me thinking all TVR’s we’re built the same and never got modified.
