This is interesting, a few hours to run, at Sotheby's: https://rmsothebys.com/en/auctions/es20/the-europe...
The condition report and photos give is a 3/4 mark (1 being concourse, 5 a rebuild required) and as it has been in a museum collection I guess it really needs to come apart and have the works thrown at it.
No reserve, currently 2500 euros. I can't see it going higher as it is one of those cars on the cusp and the chassis could be cheese - no MOT since 2007.

Listed as an S2 but looks like an S1 to me?The condition report and photos give is a 3/4 mark (1 being concourse, 5 a rebuild required) and as it has been in a museum collection I guess it really needs to come apart and have the works thrown at it.

Mine is an S1.5, essentially a S1 body and interior with 2.9 engine but this intermediate model started appearing in 89 I believe. (mine registered Jan 89) 1988 they where still producing full S1 with 2.8 engine, but I’m here to be corrected? The S1.5 was essentially born because they had decided to change spec/model but continued to use the parts/bodies they had hanging around before moving to the full S2 spec, bigger doors etc.
Think your right re doors. Looking at it essentially the "S1.5" is an S1 with a 2.9 engine (when the 2.8 supply ran out, before the S2 spec was finalised). By the start of 1990 the S2 spec was pretty much finalised so if your car is late 88/89 it has a good chance of being 1.5 in my humble opinion.
Steve Heath Manual says the 1.5 generally has all the following as standard :-
- 2.9 engine
- swept dash
- manual windows
- mech boot release
- single wipe wipers
- front facing bonnet vent
- fixed aerial
Obviously some will have optional kit on top I.e driving lamps, seat finishes that vary, walnut dash etc
