Goog thread this. Been looking for another TVR (recently sold my turbo Chim and had a Cerb V8 a few years ago before that) and do all my own work/repairs etc except paint. Have a soft spot for the old 2.8i (put one in a P100 recently) so probably a series 1 for me? I've seen the ads you mention on here and some seem crazy prices and others maybe too far gone. I've been quite tempted by the black one at Amore.
Any history/views - good or bad - as its a steep learning curve all over again rolleyes

The Amore one:
https://www.pistonheads.com/classifieds/used-cars/...
Says 1994 but F plate suggests 1989?

Any other's worth looking at as you know them much better than me. beer
Maybe take a look at Richards (Kitchski) S1 over on the FB page or contact him through here?

I've seen that one but not driven it. It changed hands earlier this year when it was for sale privately in Wales, for a fraction of the current asking price (which has already been reduced) so haggle hard. Compare and contrast pics below. Looks better in the pictures than in real life IMHO, and has some issues with the hood. Also be very careful re the mileage.

Brilliant, that's the stuff I was hoping for. The buyer of my Chim sold his to Amore and said the cars on display were not prepared well in his opinion. The car was made in 1988 but not registered until 2000. Need to think carefully.

As mentioned above (not sure who he is but I probably know him!) I decided to offer mine up for sale last week.

Probably regret it, but if the right buyer came along for the right money I don't think I'd say no.

Is this one known to anyone?

https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/323492847450?ul_noapp=t...

One of the guys in the local TVRCC region is asking.

Richard - where have you advertised yours? I'll pass the details on.

I've only stuck it on Facebook so far. Nothing official advertised.

I imagine your car will be immaculate and mechanically perfect. wink
The other half has informed me that I must get a project to stop me getting bored over the next few months. So I will be looking at cars at sensible money and sensible mileage that need work (but not paint). Back to the ads again.....

Found this at Mathewson's Auctions. Hoping to get a look this week if at all possible.

Appears excellent in the auction photos: good looking bodywork, interior, hood, engine bay, and visible parts of the chassis. Mind you they could be older pics, I've fallen for that one in the past. And although a 1991 car, it has the later (more attractive IMHO) bonnet, and appears to have the sticker on the filler cap as usually seen on the Catted cars.

Here's a proper project - step too far for me as paint is not my thing. Just come up I think. Lots of pics to help you decide.

Needs more than 'front outriggers', looking at that seatbelt mount in the rear arch!

Still fairly priced though, especially given it's at a dealer.

So I went along to have a pre-sale look-see. It was locked in another shed so couldn't view it till the weekend. Until I told them the A64 shuts on Friday for 3 days. Ahhh they say, we'll go up then and open up. Got distracted by a Rover P6 with a 3.9 TVR engine in it. Anyhoo, the S car.
Interior quite nice, no rips or tears and a nice place to be. Managed to have a look underneath and outriggers well past their sell by date. Still interested until I had a close look at the paintwork. Nearside front wing paint was dull and flat. Offside front wing had signs of accident damage. Mid way along on the top the fibreglass had completely delaminated so you could see through and careful looking along the wing showed a lot of very uneven surfaces. Windscreen starting to go cloudy on the driver's side bottom corner. Looking along the rail above the windscreen, evidence of a repair as very uneven.
Wheels, tyres, running gear looked okay from hands and knees viewing (very restricted though) and lost interest after seeing the damaged wing. Unfortunately I wont be bidding on it. frown

Thanks for the helpful update. My feeling is you did well to walk away. So that saves me a five and a half hour drive each way to view it.... smile

I rang up to buy this, I missed out on it by 20 minutes, would have been a perfect winter project for me.

Nevermind, I'm visiting Amore Autos to have a look around, see what other projects they have
