The non wide open bonnet? Still haven’t modded mine yet.

Is the yellow connector a design flaw or just a parts issue?

Both relatively easy fixes, unlike the ground effect exhaust wink

Fuel pump and filter access could be better.

With a little more thought I'm sure the gearbox could have been made a lot easier to remove scratchchin

Hardly a major issue but the alternator bracket could have been designed (sic) to look like it belongs on a Sports Car not a tractor.

Not the "worst" but reminded in Wales about not being able to see clearly that indicators have been left on! Removed panel when I put my dash back in. Terrible headlights but I suppose they all were back then.

as well as the above:

the ease (not) being able to renew the engine mounts

adjusting the hand brake - hehe

The fuel tank, fuel sloshing about and the gauge telling you EXACTLY how much you have - mmmm

The heating and distribution system - oh yes

...but also remember it is probably the best sounding exhaust on any of the ford V6 engines...

Agree, this is one of my biggest worries about attempting a reroute, don’t want to lose the music.
Wondering if a side exit might do the trick.
There’s no way I’m raising the suspension, and a new (stock)exhaust will get trashed just the same as the old one.

Most of the other items are maintenance/repair issues and don’t spoil the driving experience. Should have been more clear in the original question.
Fixed the indicator warning thing with LEDs higher in the dash.

It needs a more powerful engine, stronger transmission, better suspension and brakes. It was definitely done on the cheap compared to the models before and after it. Or to put it another way - the later models built on the success of the S.

Wouldn’t have been at the same price or be the same car. I take your point on the brakes though.

You're all wrong (though the exhaust is a close second).

Door mountings.

You're welcome hehe

Richard you beat me to it on the "easily accessible" door hinges. Likewise the ECU and fuse box. Bonnet adjustment. Dashboard removal. Throttle cable at pedal end. Curvature of windscreen and gappy wipers. Love it to pieces anyhow smile

I would level the same criticism at the V8S. I think it's safe to say that the powers that be at TVR thought the same, judging by the changes they made in subsequent models.

Another way to look at it is that the S series proved a great car can be (relatively) cheap - the later models showed that great cars get even better with more power, better suspension, etc ...

nono You're getting mixed up with the back seats of a Cerb.

I am 6' and have never really struggled getting into or out of my S1.

Brian Griffith on the Chim forum has produced a most excellent kit to remedy that problem. bow
I wholeheartedly recommend it.

I'm relatively young and I still have to make old man noises when getting in and out. On the plus side, the passenger side has miles of leg room.
