I'm taking the dashboard out and rewiring,so now have a chance to design it again from scratch. I like the swoop of lights and adjacent gauges but could now actually wire them all or reduce the amount of them. Also could add some gauges to swoop towards the glove box. The H&V sliders are seized and the clock doesn't work so I can install new/different.

Your views and thoughts are welcome l. Remember this is NOT an S1 with original parts.

Can you arrange for the gauges to be removable from the front while you're at it?

You could consider adding the gauges that TVR, for some bizarre reason, missed out:

Engine oil temp
'Box and diff oil temp
Water injection flow rate
Boost pressure
AFR

I think it needs compound gauges to get them all in without a silly number of dials.

Nice idea but last 3 only needed if turbo'd. I'll do a fuel pressure one and maybe oil temperature

Mick, you only need the basics on your side:

Artificial horizon
Turn and slip
Altimeter
Rate of climb
%:Power
Machmeter
Missiles armed & locked on indicator

Have you thought about incorporating a helmet visor HUD?

Your co-pilot/nav can monitor the other stuff such as:

Low fuel
Low coolant level
Low oil pressure
High coolant temp
Footwell water level
Exhaust system remaining
Landing gear position indicator ( 4 Greens/ 4 Reds )*
Integrated SatNav/Wherethefuqarewe indicator

On no account should the co-pilot be able to monitor groundspeed. yikes . nono

If I think of any more such as 'Cloaking Device and Force Shields Activated' or 'DiLithium Crystal Energised' I'll let you know. thumbup

* Apologies to Simon. Perhaps consider a retrofit? wink

Only 4 of the warning lamps are wired up. Indicators / Main Beam / Ignition / Rear Fog.

Gauges: Fuel / Water Temp / Oil Pressure / Voltage. I have added a digital volt meter connected to the battery cut off switch and a fuel pressure gauge.

The heater sliders are seized and the digital clock does not work

If you need a stereo then you are not driving fast enough. Ditch that junk and save some weight.

So does the seller of the dash.. you could have both for £500 (or an offer) a bit steep but complete you would prob get at least £200 back your your s1 parts?

I know its a lot but would transform your racing interior?

Too much for me with all the other costly mods I'm going to do, which I can't really justify

Are you re-trimming the whole dash and fitting things where you want them?
Is that silver coloured panel a switch panel?
Bearing in mind personal likes and dislikes and all that....I find the warning lights and gauges layout as bad as it gets...they really are horrible looking to me and the warning lights themselves are cheap and nasty looking, I have fitted many of those warning lights and always wished I could have started from scratch with decent looking ones

Cooling fan/fans warning light/lights and override switch/switches may be of interest to you, perhaps a push button start with hidden security switch and do away with the ignition switch????????????????????
