Glad to see your having fun. I just went to work with some glass mat, made it in two parts and matched the seat leather I have. Even found space for some speakers.

I looked at this image and thought to myself "that's a really nice job" and then me being me thought to myself "how are those speakers going to work"
Perhaps I'm well off the mark but those speakers look standard to me and will be directional like many speakers are, if they are directional the sound is going to be very poor, I would expect to see directional speakers fitted to the left and right of the drivers ears
I could be wrong but.....just a thought

3 way speakers, they sound ok, it was either ashtrays or speakers, speakers won

I'm interested by the split line. Will you be able to get to the back of the instruments?

As long as you can hear the sounds they are no doubt better than ashtrays

The speakers come out and two wingnuts hold the pieces together, the engine and gearbox ECU's are tucked up there as is the heater blower. Both come out without removing dash. Its not a TVR heater but one I got from ebay, just enough to clear the screen and be mot legal.

It's all down to what you like Mick, Like what you are doing. Put the bonnet back on mine and it looks like I will have to fit the vent I did for you (airbox 30mm too big) big Oppsy on my part.

As mentioned above it's all about personal taste. I much prefer the Alan Whitaker dash layout, your layout looks horrible to me but if you find it pretty that's all that matters

To give you some idea about my taste in things " I never liked Dolly Partons Tits"

My apologies I somehow missed this post, you've made an exceptionally good job of the dash.
Have you considered marketing dashboards or is it too much work

That is where TVR moved from the swoop style Mk1 / 2 to the straight style Mk3 / 4 dashboards

They thought it progress and looked better.

I looked at this at first but the 'heater box' of the early car would be in the way of the high level instruments, the swoop 'almost' clears this , the box does have a large cut out to miss the clock.

Ok, I didn't know about that, perhaps a modification would be good

Are there any dashboard designs you like?

As you say the layout is personal and of course subject as to what can be fitted. I like both S dashboard designs.

New design dashboard coming along nicely. Just painted but sponge and leatherette being purchased. ... Probably similar colour. Also new heating and ventilation controls as purchased ones from mk1 Freelander.

How the heck is this supposed to work? Air forced up to the screen
Moving the slider to ' cabin' slides the white panel to open the entry into the duct circled but does not close the route to the screen. So how is the air going to the cabin?

My guess is somebody in marketing insisted it had to have the usual set of vents, but nobody was bothered what they did as long as air came out of somewhere.
