Help please. Trying to source some 57mm (2.25") OD steel tubing to replace both rusty rear beams on my S3, the beam that the trailing arms attach to. I've looked on the net and at the moment I've only managed to find 1.6mm thick exhaust tubing, I believe I need 3mm thickness? Anybody able to help?

You might have more luck asking for 1/8" by 2 1/4" rather than 3mm. If you can't find imperial sizes listed online, it might be worth a phone call to steel stockists near you.

You can source it from Hub Le Bas but I think there is a minimum order, I bought something like 3 meters for my S1 chassis. Your welcome to some of the spare stuff I’ve got if your ever passing Portsmouth.

I've got some surplus that you can collect from WS7 in Staffs.
I can't remember what exact thickness it is, but I've used it on mine !

Seamless steel tubes with OD = 57mm and wall thicknesses of 2.9, 3.2 or 3.6mm are standard available sizes.

Apologies for not replying earlier; I managed to get all that I needed from a local steel stockist - Dyfed Steel, Llanelli. Also managed to find a local mobile welder, recommended by several people, he can fit me in third week in October. Interestingly once the body had been partially lifted and all the waxoyl scrapped off the outriggers I was pleasantly surprised to find that they had already been replaced and were in excellent condition. Once again thanks for the help and suggestions.

Would any of you guys be willing to sell and post a couple of lengths (750mm long) of 57mm tube up to scotland?
Cheers, Niall

Niall, apologies for not replying earlier. I've been let down a couple of times by the welder, he's promised to come Weds of next week ( ??? ), so as yet I'm not exactly sure how much tubing will be surplus. Excuse my ignorance but are you looking for one piece, 750mm in length, or two 750mm pieces? If it's just the one piece I may be able to help.
