After ages of searching with not much luck, can anybody tell me what servo I need for my S2 please. I think (lol) it needs replacing.

https://www.ebay.com/p/Saab-9000-Brake-Booster-Ser...

I bought one of these from this seller for my S1. Looks correct and fits ok but yet to test it.

If you study both pictures, they do look like the same part.

On the Racetech page, it says: " Can be used on S models with slight modifications ".

Also, the TVR Parts link is not correct for an S2.

Read the text .............

"This servo suits the later S Series TVRs with the brake fluid reservoir mounted directly on the master cylinder. It does NOT suit the master cylinder with the remote reservoirs, see TVR S28J 10056B for this "

You will need this one :

S2 Servo

Is there a cheaper source for this servo? I couldn’t justify spending the £270 hence the second hand unit off eBay.

I thought the Saab master cyl/servo were used exclusively on the S1s (obviously they would have had to exhaust their stocks before changing), but the later models used a ford (fiesta?) setup?

Saab 9000 servo

It’s the correct servo for my S1 but I guess there all different, it matches the master cylinder:

The Alternative parts list has the part number as 8958423 but the Ad' has 8954823

The middle '84' is transposed to '48'

Probably a typing error but worth checking to see which one is correct.

It looks like the alt parts list number is correct.

They're the same bloody thing! laugh

J0088. It's an aftermarket servo to fit Griffith, Chimaera and S. And they do fit the earlier S with a small bit of modification, IF you change the master and fit as reservoir at the same time. I've done it to mine.

If the original lasted 25+ years with nowt but a bit of black powdercoat I wouldn't worry too much about it!

The servo that fit the S1 2.8 with the remote master cylinder is from a saab 9000 from1986 to 1987
If you can find one mine came from America found on ebay the total price including shipping and tax was £146.35 but that was in 2014
It fitted straight on no mods and still going strong
