A reminder that the SCH 21 is taking place at the Gold Cup Meeting at Oulton Park in Cheshire over the August Bank Holiday. See also our 'Events' sub heading tag on the fb TVR S Series Owners and Enthusiasts page. Ticket booking details etc. are expected to be published on the S site in about a weeks time. This would be a great time for our newer members to this site (and there have been loads recently) to come over and meet up with fellow S enthusiasts

We have been forced to make some changes to our planning. Can I ask you to read through the following details, which will also be posted on our Facebook site.

TVRCC S CLUB HEAVEN 2021

Oulton Park Gold Cup 28/29/30 August 2021

This has proved difficult this year and Covid is still influencing arrangements. We are still determined to provide the opportunity for the annual meet up of S owners to go ahead this year, even in constrained circumstances, and we very much hope you will support this accordingly. We look forward to seeing a group of old and new friends there.
There are two major changes to arrangements at Oulton Park which influence our plans.
Firstly there will now be NO camping available Friday night, the camping facilities will open late morning Saturday (before practicing starts). Camping however includes Saturday and Sunday night and until 8pm Monday and is pretty cheap. I know this will suit some people but not others. The Oulton website gives details of other accommodation in the area.
Secondly ALL the booking is on line and there is specific provision for 50% discounted booking for members of specifically approved groups, and passengers, and we are registered accordingly. It is a bit more complicated to apply (but if I can manage it you can!) I have provisionally booked for 15 cars each day (first come first served!) if it looks like we need more, which would be great, I expect to be able to get an increase.
PROGRAMME;
For the programme of historic/classic racing, and of other information on what’s on over the three days please go to www.oultonparkgoldcup.com.
Our plans:
We would like to get all S owners assembled by 3.30pm Saturday if possible. We are organising a run out in convoy (max 2.5hrs driving), we are currently exploring the possibility of a break at a pub/café together. (For those who are only attending on Saturday or Sunday it is NOT possible to organise a run on those days for traffic management reasons).
Sunday morning we will move from the camping area (outside the race track) to the designated are for our group inside the race circuit, and meet non camping members there. The exact spot has yet to be confirmed but, for those who know the circuit, I have been advised it will probably be between Old Hall and Cascades. Racing cannot start until noon Sunday so this is the time most visitors take the opportunity to visit the paddock, stalls and displays. I hope we can socialise together, probably making use of on site catering etc, in the evening.
Monday morning we return to our designated spot for a full day, members can of course leave when they wish.
COMMUNICATION. I can envisage some communication problems, particularly in view of the size of the site. For that reason it is intended to set up a specific WhatsApp group for the event so I will need a mobile phone number for each car please.
CAMPING; see the Gold Cup website for details, it is pretty cheap for 2 nights these days. When I know revised numbers I will advise Oulton so we can confirm a camping area together. I will be there early to check.
JUDGING ; we will NOT be trying to organise judging by type of S this year, so we are all in this together! We MAY manage to arrange public choice of the three S cars that appeal to them the most, plus the memorial trophy for the well used not show car.
SOUVENIRS; will be limited to certificate and window sticker. I would love to do T shirts for those who S enthusiasts who supported this event, but AFTER the event and subject to your details and a £15 deposit at the event. A reminder of at least something ‘S’ attended during the covid years!
RAFFLE. There will be no raffle this year.
APPLYING FOR TICKETS.
Be amongst the first 15 (14 now as I have booked) to be sure to get the 50% discount on driver and any passenger. If we can exceed that I am pretty confident of getting the number extended.
It HAS to be on line and through their system to get the discount. Apply as follows:
1. Go to www.https://www.oultonparkgoldcup.com/
2. On the banner select ‘Get Involved’
3. Go to ‘Club Displays’
4. Go to lower left ‘click here to apply’
5. You are likely to ask to register with Oulton Park before proceeding
6. Select ‘displaying with a club’ and select ‘TVRCC S type’. Care, there are other TVR registrations on Oulton Park records. They will ask for details of your car.
7. You are then ‘registered’ and you will get an email confirming.
8. You will receive a sticker/pass for your car which MUST be shown to gain entry

A few others have booked via Facebook but I would be grateful if a few more could get their bookings in quickly and let me know. I will have to go back to Oulton and confirm space needed.

Is this to book to camp and go on the track. I’ll hopefully be able to come to meet everyone have a look at the cars etc, but it would just be a day trip and without my car as it won’t be ready in time. Assuming I just pay on the door?

Hi Lee, sorry your car isn't ready yet. I am afraid I can only get discounted entry for people who bring their S to show. However you will not be the only S owner who has to come without their car. Yes you will have to buy a ticket as a member of the public but we would love to have you join us nevertheless to socialise and view the action. If you let me know when you are going to be there, and give me your mobile number, I will include you in the Whatapp group. See you there, and I will have my S1 with me to discuss with you!

Cool. What day would be best to go? Are you going on the track, would like to see that. Not sure it’s the wife’s cup of tea yet, so need to get the day pass approved. Would be great to put a face to all the names and people who have helped me so far. I may even have a rolling chassis by then, (who needs a body anyway)

Sorry, nobody is going on the track. This is a national HSCC competition meeting, a major annual historic event, there are usually some competitive TVR's in the Sports Car races but earlier cars than ours. (Have a good look at the Gold Cup website, I think there is past event coverage somewhere as well.) However there is access to the paddock and to many car club groups. At the moment there are marginally more people going on Sunday, but that may change as more names come in.

Hi Greymry, unfortunately we cannot now make this weekend frown. We put our names down on your original list, but thought I better let you know in case you were holding numbers.

SCH21 UPDATE:
We have the following names down for SCH, and will set up the Whatsapp group accordingly. If you are not on the list but intend to be there please let Richard know, with mobile number AND registration number please.

Those who applied for discounted entry to show their cars should now have the passes from Oulton.

There are a couple of people who did not apply in time but will be paying at the gate. Richard will need your registration number to get you onto our show area.

There is an issue about time of access to camping on Saturday, waiting advice from Oulton on that one.

The priority this year is just to give members the opportunity to get back together as friends and enthusiasts after missing two years, plus some excellent classic on track entertainment in a great venue! With limited numbers and some cars attending on one day only, 'judging' cars is not a priority this year.
