Are you planning on fitting the targa from the S? biggrin

Appears to be a typo in the subject, shouldn't that be MGA?

Enjoy. It will look good on the Eurotour next year wink

Some times but the MGA is a lovely car to drive below 70mph. MPG about the same surprisingly eg. 22mpg

It’s probably quite a smart move. You,ll be able to drive through a ULEZ zone without getting spanked with tax by sad can’t.

It was time for a change and the little MGA came up at a price I couldn't pass up. It's a car I've always loved but never though I'd be able to own.

The V8S is a wonderful GT car which you really only come to appreciate when you do a EuroTour. It will drone along effortlessly on autoroutes for hour after hour at a steady 80mph with plenty of reserve for overtaking and only needing to stop for petrol (every 220 miles in my case). Then when you get to the mountains the torque just eats up the twisty roads and hairpins using just 2nd & 3rd. Yes it can be driven faster but I was never brave enough laugh

Oh my god, you could be running a vehicle with an RB106 control box......Heaven, once they're set up correctly

Made the same switch back in September last year. Miss the V8 torque and noise but don't miss the road tax. Mine is a 1959 1500 Roadster

Haven't stopped yet. Still getting to know the car and it's quirks. The pneumatic indicator switch is next on the agenda.

I always loved MG As. Well done. I've recently sold my Triumph GT6 of 13 years of ownership and bought a V8S. I've gone in the opposite direction! I've still to get to grips with the V8S

Best to assume you'll never get to grips with it, or push your luck, because it will end in tears. smile

I went to fix mine only to find all the internals were missing. Have located a new old stock one from another MGA owner so it's just to fit and adjust.

I'm on the look out for a "spares or repair" one to pull apart and see how it works. Just missed one on eBay last week banghead.

PS - caught myself stroking the curves again this morning laugh

That's what I was looking for before I found the new one. Mine was missing the spring, piston and leather washer. I did find an article that described how to take it apart and repair it if the bits had been inside. I believe the only replaceable item is the washer that creates the seal. It's an interesting concept. Probably should really discuss it in the MG section. biggrin
