Just bought an S1 - the o/s door drops slightly when opened and cathes when closing, causing some minor rubbing to paintwork. This appeared the same on most S 1/2 I looked at - can anything simple be done to fix this ?

The bushes in the door hinges/pin are worn. Tricky job to replace. Got to do mine. 8mm door pins for the S1 are now not available although I believe Adrian Venn is doing something that is suitable. If not then they have to be replaced with 10mm pins/bushes instead. Check previous posts on this issue. LeeBee is your man, as I know he's done his and has advised me on how to do mine. Haven't tackled that one yet though !

Birchy, I had set up my profile on here before but it seems to have change again. Give me a couple of hours and I'll have it sorted.

Birchy, I've now enabled public access to email me as I hadn't turned it on before - DOH !

In a previous thread, LeeBee was good enough to mail me a couple of photos on how it all hangs together - a lot better than exploded diagrams. The glass runners will have to come out to gain access to the top bush.... Mail <muley9999@hotmail.com> with your mail address and I'll forward them on. I haven't done mine yet - winter project - the bolts are VERY tight and I am nervous about ripping the brass bushes out of the body!!
