I am finally having some time off this week before I go to France for the weekend and need to do the O/S front wheel bearing.

Having not done the fronts before I need to clarify a couple of issues as I haven't got the bible in front of me.....and knowing what a great bunch you all are ;-)

1 - What size socket do I need to undo the bearing ? Is it 41mm ?

2 - Has anyone managed to do it on the car as it appears the whole assembly will need to be removed ??

3 - Does anyone want to do it for me ???

Wot ya' reckon ??

I've done one on the car and I recommend not doing it this way. The professionals seem to take the whole upright off.

Pete,

I think mine is giving similar symptoms to one you described previously....in that there is a droning noise which is worsened when the wheel is loaded during cornering.

Yet there is no play in the bearing that is discernable.

Is this how yours was ? I have left it for some tme now making sure that the droning is not coming from anywhere else and that it is definitely in tune with wheel speed and not engine or gearbox rev's.

Sound familiar ?

Cheers

Mark
