To respond to Steve Heaths comment in previous thread.

One of the reasons that TVR are tarred with a reliability problem is that you look at sites like this at all the problems and wow there must be a real isuue. You don't see as many "my car started today and was fine" postings.... Looking at site like this can give a very distorted picture of what reality is like.

My car started first time, I drove to the regional meeting and drove home again with no problems.

I've owned my car for nearly six years with no major problems (touch wood fingers crossed etc). The car is regular serviced by Tower View and I do a number of track days a year. There are not many 12 year old cars (euroboxes) I would trust or are capable of going on the track.

There is a point to be made here!
TVR's are a sports cars, built on a racing construction formula. this will lead to, in some cases, a reliability problem. I have a 2.9 S2 and it starts every time i turn the key. The areas that let it down are the general construction standards. TVR can't compete with BMW for the finish of all there parts as this would add thousands to the price. I have a BMW 635csi (highline) which is the same age as my TVR, I would not pretend for one second that the beamer is in the same league in the handling, performance, and sound. where the beamer scores is that every component on the car is made to the highest standards. that's why i am having to spent all the winter stripping the front end on the TVR.
The point being! i'm loving every minute of it!
I would be shocked if the beamer required a strip down,
and penny less if I had to buy all the parts.
hope you all start!

message for LEEBEE.
Christ mate you found me!
fitted the front shocks, and stripped the front right down to chassis. fitted the steering back on today and the wheels are all over the place. Is this because I thought i'd put a bit of camber on the wheels, and this alters the steering geometry.
As regards the top, yes i do! i'll be in touch soon.
I've had a few bills recently but i'm still in for it!
You still got my phone number?
If you was to drop a bit more i'd be straight over.
but i' have it in the end.
all the best,
GADGIT.
