noisy alternater

ever since ive had my car , nearly a year now, the alternater has sounded like a washing machine at half spin, charges ok, and car has only done 16,000 miles. Can i get it any quieter? ta mark

I replaced my alternator with a reconned one done by Ford. It is hardly any quieter than the original really. I wouldn't bother unless it is making really hideous noises or breaks.
