Harry,

Don't know how your V8S search is going but there's one for sale here:

www.findit.co.uk/cars/tvr/221445.htm

Hope you end up with a good 'un!

I suspect if he finds out you constantly refer to this chap as 'your man' he'll stitch you up with a right lemon.

IMO learning what you need to know to look for cars yourself will put you in good stead for runnig them.

Only refered to as 'my man' as I couldn't think of a polite and short way of saying "the bloke who will source you a sorted car, country wide, research its history, give it a good going over and test drive it to satisfy himself it really is a good car before you (or I in this case) get a call to travel, test it and look at it yourself, for a fee thats not payable until you've actually bought it" not a bad deal in my book and seeing as these don't seem to be too common thats IMHO the best way to approach it. Yes I do have the mechanical/electrical nounce to go over any car, however as this will be my first TVR I don't want to fall into any bottomless pits (as far as the money goes!). I fully understand that tinkering will be part of ownership, I just want to do it on my terms and not because I've bought a shed.

Al

Nice to here from you, I promise (I know like last time) to have you round diner very soon, you know how it is blah blah.

I've sent you a reply off-line as it's info that I prefer to keep out of the forums.

Brandon (TVR Dealer till Oct 2001) are advertising a 92J V8S Eclipse Blue with Blue Hood and int, FSH and 12 mths. warranty. tel 0131 663 6333 (Edinburgh). I am not recommending either Brandon or this car, merely pointing it out. If it is of any interest go to the "Servicing in Scotland" thread. You will find out all about NOELV8 and why he is THE Man to help you if this car is what you fancy. Good Hunting !

Harry you couldn't e-mail me his details as well could you - we have now sold our 400SE and want a Cerbie - our friend has said he will look at any car we want him to but we don't want to cause him too much trouble (we live in Guernsey and a bit difficult and a pricey to see all the cars we want to). Might be easier to use "your man".
