Following up on another discussion..

Does anyone know the Girling part number for the master and slave cylinders???

I have fitted new seal kits etc.. and that helped to some degree.. but the slave cylinder is clearly to warn now to do the job!!

PS getting the slave cylinder out was not fun!!! so not looking forward to a repeat performance... an s1 on axle stands still leaves sod all space to move

Slave cylinder is Lucas p/n 74066169

Replaced the clutch hydraulics on my '87 S1 18 months ago and the parts I used were:-

Master cylinder - Girling 64676310 (£42.89p)
Slave cylinder - Lockheed LB13DC002A (45.24p)

I was told the master cylinder was ex-Morris 1000 (?)

I did have to modify the length of the push rod between
the slave cylinder and the actuating arm to get the clutch action right but it's run fine ever since.

Don't want to be a damp squid but as there have already been two different part numbers for one of the units that you might want to invoke the Steve maxim of "assume nothing". I would look for part numbers on the cylinders to make sure that you do get the bits that you think you want. Also be aware as stated in the bible that replacements often come with metric pipe fittings and the chances are that you car will have imperial which don't fit. Might be worth getting the fittings to match the cylinders so that you are not totally screwed.

Cheers for that.... I was going to replace the pipes anyway..as presume they may be slightly brittle with age..and had to bend last time to get the slave off

So will play it safe (also plan to fit a new clutch as none has been fitted since the original 69 000 miles ago)
