OK here's the hoses I've bought for the V8S. All hoses are metric M10x1.0
All bought from http://www.brakeparts.co.uk or ring 01706 666999 speak to Mitch

Part No Qty Description TVR Application Cost ea Total Notes
BBF3231 12 Metric Hose Nut 0.19 2.28
BFH2166 2 Flex Hose Front Long Hose 10.12 20.24 Listed for TR7/TR8
BFH2061 2 Flex Hose Chassis - Trail arm 6.80 13.60 Original 205mm long, this is 190mm **SEE NOTE BELOW**
BFH2304 4 Flex Hose Caliper Hose 4.94 19.76 Listed for Sierra / Granada
Carriage 7.50
Sub Total 55.88
VAT 9.80
TOTAL 65.66

  • OK editing now to say my original inboard rear flexible hoses were imperial - however I have changed everything to metric including rigid pipes & fittings so this isn't a problem for me - but if you are looking to replace just the inboard rear hoses then the above BFH2061 is incorrect.
On my V8S the 'T' at the rear near the diff was imperial, the rear inboard flexi hoses were imperial (8 inches long) and the copper pipes running along the trailing arms are imperial at the inboard end and metric at the caliper end.

You will also need some 10mm shakeproof washers - mine has one either side of each flange fitting so thats 24 in total in the V8S.

The master cylinder connections are 12mm for the fronts (x2), the rear output is a 10mm union but this runs to the pressure valve which is a 12mm union both in and out.

I replaced the 'T' at the rear with a new metric version, all unions are M10x1.0

Hope this is useful to somebody.

Chris

Yes I'll try and file it somewhere - maybe make it a useful link?

Well I have bought all new fittings & pipe for my copper pipes - though it seems I did have some imperial fittings - the pipe going to the rear of the car had a 'T' near the diff. This was imperial along with the other ends of both copper pipes - so the flexi hose going from the trailing arm to the car was an imperial one - I am off back in the garage again in a minite so I will get a definitive answer how mine is set up.

Maybe this was why I could not find a 205mm flexi hose for this - and maybe thats why TVR used imperial fittings to allow the use of a particular flexi hose. All guesswork.

All I have edited the original post at the top of this thread with definitive (maybe!) information for the V8S.

Dear all

The listed 'long' flexible hose for the fronts from a TR7/8 is now obsolete. I tried to get some from brakeparts.co.uk today and they gave me the good news.

I now have a set of Goodrich hoses on order from Stevson Motors www.stevsonmotors.co.uk. They listed a kit for the TVR S series so I phoned them up. They were very knowledgeable, knew about the different hoses between an S1/2/3 and an S4/V8.

They were willing to supply individual hoses if you don't want a complete set. How accomodating can you get?

Parts were in stock and should be here in a couple of days.

Probably worth a call if you find yourself needing new flexi's 0121 472 1702.

beer With grateful thanks to Philpott, who told me about them in the first place. beer
