Hi

Can anyone recommend a place for wheel alignment in NW London.

I'm in Harrow but don't mind travelling a little for somewhere that will do it properly and comes recommended.

I have checked on alignmycar.co.uk for places nearby but was hoping to get some recommendations as not all Hunter machine operators are created equal it seems.

Car is an E46 M3 if it makes any difference.

Thanks!

+1 I guess. I was told by a tyre place that my wheels were all over the place and that they could do it. I declined and took it to Wheels in Motion, who checked them over and said there was nothing wrong with them. Appreciated that. I was charged for the checking which I thought was ok, but a mate seemed pretty amazed that I was charged when they did no work, claiming that was unusual.

But do their mechanics know how to use it properly?

Have booked in with Wheels in Motion. They seem to cime highly recommended. Bit of a drive and a two week wait for a saturday slot but hopefully it will be worth it.

Another option is Goldenwheel in Abbey Road, Park Royal.

They did my Range Rover last week and have Hunter alignment kit. They only charged me for what needed doing despite checking everything and giving me a full 'before and after' report.

It was handy for me as the place is five minutes from where I work, but they seemed to know their stuff.

Definitely as most mechanics only knows how to set geo to what the Hunter machine tells them to, right in the middle of all tolerances. However, most factory specs are ranges rather than exact figures so knowledgeable mechanics can set the geometry to your handling bias while still within factory spec. Bottom line is wheel alignment is a service and not a fixed product so you pay for what you get.

Slight change to the title of this thread - can anyone recommend somewhere with a Hunter alignment rig who know how to use it in the South London/Southern region? The car is a Volvo 850R if that makes a difference.

Had a service and alignment done there on Friday. Recommended by two good mates. I was impressed. Will be taking the wife's car in next. Actually very handy to be able to kill two birds with one stone.

EDIT - took the Clio in, Very impressed with what they found & fixed and the efficiency of it all. Electrics, suspension and alignment done (on top of fluids, filters, plugs) & the car drives much better.

I would have had the MOT done at the same time but for the want of a hazard light switch which they found on eBay for me (£6 vs £50 for the Renault one).

Going back to get that done next time I can get over there.

Good place for alignment, general servicing & repairs and MOT's.
