Dumb ass driver needs to learn the basic rule of the highway code when pulling out.
Idiot that could have been much worse.

Oops - Morgan driver seems to have got that manoeuvre all wrong!

No sympathy at all for the Morgan driver (should have been some realisation of limitations) but a shame for the Morgan!

But I really feel for the Peugeot driver - just driving down the A30 and someone wrecks their day (week/month/etc.).

I hope nobody was injured - cars can always be fixed, people not always.

Nah, there was plenty of time, if the pug driver had let go of the panic button and swerved right he'd have been fine.

Yes, the road layout has been improved to make it safer to pull into the centre reservation before committing to pulling out onto the carriageway... So definitely the Morgan's fault but I still can't help thinking that one of them could have taken avoiding action...

It looked like the Morgan was exiting a show judging by the people congregated on the junction.

Maybe I'm repeating others' comments by saying that a number of drivers try and 'put on a bit of a show' when leaving, or they at least try to.

I watched an Audi leave Brooklands with front tyres spinning wildly on Sunday. It's what the photographers and video-takers seem to like and there were a fair few of them on Sunday. I only saw the Audi as I was behind it in my old Mustang and I've seen these exits many times at other shows. I'm not knocking them as some of them are entertaining to watch for all the right reasons, but it's often a fine line between bravado, skill, road conditions and knowing your own car's behaviour.

Looking at YT videos of spirited car show / road junction exits and the crashes that can occur, it's rather scary. Too much enthusiasm and not enough talent, or not enough observation.

I suspect the Morgan driver had an over-abundance of the former coupled with an approaching car that was going too fast. I thought that both cars had a lucky escape over what potentially could have happened had the Morgan not maintained a straight line or the Peugeot hit the rear at a worse angle and rolled.

So far, I've erred heavily on caution and have made massively restrained exits from shows. I lack both skill and confidence, which is possibly no bad thing under the circumstances. Call me boring if you want to.

Unfortunate though the Morgan accident is, I hope it helps other drivers.

In a Mustang, that's probably as well. If you believe the internet, every Mustang leaving a Cars and Coffee show, crashes!
