Hi all

A friend of mine has a son who has totally been left out if any prom plans. It's a subject close to my heart so I'd like to do something special for him and get a nice car convoy happening to his prom in Bexleyheath

So my request is, would anyone be free on 18th July to take part in this? The prom starts at 6.

Please don't comment if you're likely to cancel; I don't want to get any false hope on this.

Thank you guys!!
Annie

I might be able to help. I have a VW bus that I could take him in or an old Beetle if he would prefer. I live in Lee and work in Erith so location isn't a problem

So point A is Hurstwood Avenue and Point B is Danson House, Danson Park. I'm not local so I don't know what the route is like unfortunately. However, it does look like there are some speed bumps to navigate!

VW Bus sounds good! I'm getting all types of different vehicles. We've got an E Type Jag too and potentially a Dodge Viper.

He doesn't know yet so he'll choose his vehicle of choice on the day! smile

seems legit. Put your plans on hold, sonny jim will decide the day before if your whip is for him

Actually, the idea is to get a convoy. So everyone will be doing the journey, he'll just decide which car he wants to go in on the day. Basically I want more than one car to do the journey and make it something really special.

It's not about putting your plans on hold and then potentially not being involved, anyone who is willing to help out with this will be involved whether he's in your car or not.

ah missed that biggrin I do proms, alas this is too far but what I would say is that whilst the idea of a convoy sounds great, it will be impractical and also the effort will be greatly overlooked.

Getting into and out of any prom gathering is extremely busy, having empty cars kept in sequence will be difficult and once he is in his chosen ride, his focus will be on looking out at other people looking in.

From experience, the best cars to use are the ones that not only stand out they also make a good noise (not necessarily music) so the E-type, Dodge, VW Bus (assuming not the 1980s square one) etc are great picks.

When I take them out, I always give them a bit of a good drive, booting it safely but when least expecting it and hearing their laughter is epic.

But as I said, the idea of a convoy may not really work as planned but you have your call, I think what you are doing is admirable. The proms I usually do are for kids that couldn't otherwise afford a special motor or have been let down.
