Sunday 10 June: East London Epping Forest,Essex, Herts drive

A few of us have been discussing getting an East London group together - first suggestion for a drive here:

Date: Sunday 10 June

Time: meet 07:00 for 07:15 departure ish (meeting point TBC). Breakfast 08:30-09:00 ish. Finished around 10:00.

Route overview: Woodford Green (just on the other side of the N.Circ Waterworks Roundabout), through Epping Forest, touches Herts and ends up in Harlow (for a Frankie n Bennys Breakfast) about 40 miles of country lanes n twistys...

Definitely up for this, but don't think I can hang around for breakfast on this weekend so may have to leave once you get to F&B's. So if this becomes oversubscribed I'll happily drop outfor someone who can do the breakfast.

I wondered about putting up a post in the main Events section directing to this to see if there is further interest? Or shall we keep it fairly small/low key for the first one?

It’s worth a try. Is there a maximum number of cars for this drive?

I dont think any maximum really. Practially speaking its hard to keep a convoy drive of more than 10 cars together I’ve found. And we dont really want to attract any ‘unwanted’ attention I’m sure...

Yeah we don’t want PC Plod tagging along and setting up speed traps along the way! Keep the exact route offline for now. My mate (Umi) is interested in joining, need to check if another mate is free to join.

I think it best to keep it low key for this..
The numbers we have and I ‘may’ have a few more coming are enough..
As stated,too many will attract unwanted attention.. Small is good.. Plus I don’t wanna be stopping at a jcn waiting for 15+ cars to catch up..

Absolutely gutted but going to have to pull out - bit of debris on M11 tonight hit my windscreen and I've a crack a mile long. Will try, but doubtful I'll get it repaired before Saturday. Enjoy the run - I'm pretty sure I'm a regular on the roads you'll be taking, and they are great at that time of the morning. Matt

If you do it thru your insurance you should be able to get in done in 24-48hrs..
