Free on street parking - weekdays

Bit of a challenge for you Londonists - I'm driving in to London next Monday morning from the west. M4, A4, as you'd expect, and I'm wondering what's the last free on street parking I can find on or near to that route? Somewhere in Brentford I expect?

Does anyone know? More out of interest really, I expect I'll drive up to the Park Lane underground and cough up as I'm heading for Piccadilly, but I was wondering if there was anywhere further out worth trying and getting a tube or bus for the rest of the way in the name of saving a few quid?

Possibly Acton but roads within decent walking distance of a tube station all tend to have restrictions midweek
