I've seen drivers like you before, wish I hadn't.
You must be one of those that weaves from lane to lane above the speed limit
I presume you mean one of those that drives in the left hand lane and moves out to the right to overtake muppets like you sitting in the middle lane because you think that you are driving at the speed limit, and how dare they overtake you... byebye

Not seen anybody doing over the speed limit driving like that except for those that join the road and cut across both lanes to pass a car then back to pass another on the inside.

The reason I would be in the middle lane is to allow traffic to join and leave the road so they don't cut me up.

was thinking about Metro Centre traffic on a Saturday - wonder if it will be more busier, due to the rain.

May take A19 tyne tunnel, and come across west, north of the river instead
If you do watch out for the 30mph limits on the A19 and coast road....yes 30mph...and the average speed cameras
Cameras going live tomorrow.

Bloody brilliant. The road network across the country is just becoming a big joke.

A year on and the fkers still haven't realised there is a new lane, everytime I pass the Metro Centre going southbound someone exits it and jumps straight into the middle lane. I got the V's off a nice lady driving a Mercedes the other day as I didn't let her over, I pointed to the lane she could have stayed in, but no, she moved into to middle. She stayed in the middle until she got to Askew Road then turned off, FFS.

I just stay in the inside lane and undertake everyone when they keep bunching up and slowing down, it's perfectly legal to do so.

Yep, I'm on this stretch every morning and evening. Do exactly the same thing. At best, you'll be moving faster than any of the other two lanes. At worst you'll go the same speed. It's incredible how desperately people are drawn to the middle lane.

It's very satisfying heading south past metro centre and letting people joining pile into the middle lane then to casually move over to the inside when it's clear and drive past all of them. If it's busy enough you can end up half a mile ahead of them by the time you hit the next exit.

I initially tried a period of education. I would set my cruise control at 50 mph. I would then travel in lane 1 until I had to overtake a Middle Lane idiot. I would then make a point of being visible in their mirrors going from lane 1 to 3 to overtake and then back to lane 1. All done as long as it was safe to do so of course. I was hoping that they would get the hint and realise the error of their ways.

They never did so now I just cruise along in the empty lane 1. smile
